Carlos (Degas) Filgueiras is a former senior executive, serial entrepreneur and investor.
Degas co-founded one of the first colleges that made up Adtalem Educacional do Brasil (ATB) in 2000, and in 2004 assumed his position as President and CEO. In this role, he managed ATB’s growth from 2,500 students to 115,000 students across 17 institutions in the most important cities in the country for business and growth. In 2017, in addition to his role as CEO of ATB, Degas also became Group President, of Business and Technology of Adtalem Global Education (ATGE), being responsible for expanding the company to other countries, and running the vertical globally. Degas totalized almost 20 years in Higher Education when he left his executive role in June 2019.
Previously to Adtalem, Degas was a co-founder and General Director at InterCouriers and eventually helped facilitate the merger of InterCouriers with four other companies, forming ebX Express Brasil, the largest private parcel delivery company in the country.
In 2016, Degas was elected by Forbes Magazine as one of the best CEOs in Brazil. Degas holds a master’s in business from Stanford University, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of São Paulo.
Fabio Armaganijan is a global business leader, with a consistent track record in leading growth in global organizations that include Kraft Heinz and Whirlpool, and private investment in early-stage / venture round companies. He is a former Bain Consultant with an MBA from the Harvard School of Business. An engineer with a BS in Naval Engineering from University of São Paulo.
In his most recent role as SVP and Chief Operating Officer at Kraft Heinz US, his scope included Manufacturing (40 plants), Logistics, S&OP, Procurement, External Manufacturers, Quality, and Commercialization for a US$18B business. He managed an annual spend of US$ 7.5B, with 18,000+ employees.
Fabio was also the CEO of Kraft Heinz Italy, a US$ 400MM business. There he conducted a full business turnaround addressing all areas of the organization and increased the EBITDA in over 50% in 2 years, resetting the company cost structure and organizing it for growth.
Before joining Kraft Heinz, Fabio had executive responsibilities at Whirlpool from 2008 to 2013, holding several leadership positions. He also worked for Bain & Company from 2003 to 2006, and co-founded Intercouriers with Degas.
Guilherme Weege is a former senior executive with a demonstrated history of leadership and venture investing. Skilled in negotiation, business planning, apparel and fashion retail, renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning.
Guilherme led one of the largest fashion companies in Brazil, acknowledged worldwide for its transparency and solid socio-environmental commitment, today it is one of the most recognized apparel companies in Brazil: Grupo Malwee. During his time as the company’s CEO, Guilherme has explored new brands and channels, expanding the business to 300+ stores all over the country. He managed the firm’s growth from 1,000 to 5,000 employees over the last decade. Guilherme is currently Malwee’s chairman.
Additionally, he founded and grew DESA Energy into a leading renewable energy company in Brazil in 2005 (>350MW). The company merged with CPFL in 2014 and Guilherme joined the board.
Guilherme is a serial investor (+30 companies) and has held board positions in Ambar, Lumini, Infracommerce, Tabas, Clinicorp and others including experience in two IPOs. Endeavor Brazil’s board member from 2018 to 2022 and United Nations Global Pact Ambassador for Climate, Guilherme holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and an OPM degree from Harvard.
Cinthia worked at Bain & Company from 2015 to 2022, leaving as a Senior Manager. During her time as a management consultant, Cinthia advised large national and global companies in strategy and implementation projects, including Post Merger Integrations, Commercial Due Diligence, and Go-to-Market Strategies. She worked with consumer products, retail, and financial services clients in South America, Europe, and the U.S.
Before Bain, Cinthia worked as a Strategic Planning Analyst at Hypermarcas (currently Hypera) and did an internship at Itaú BBA.
Cinthia holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Leonardo Esmeraldo was a co-founder and CEO at Flee, a fashion brand, where he bootstrapped the company from scratch. From its inception in 2015 to 2020, Leonardo led operations, supervising areas such as production, logistics, growth/digital marketing, customer support, finance, and sales.
In 2020, Leonardo exited the company and joined Enjoei, before its IPO, as Head of Business Development. At the beginning of his career, Leonardo also worked in the education sector at Adtalem Educacional do Brasil (ATB), where he took leadership roles in different business areas, such as Marketing, Academic Planning, and HR.
Leonardo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) and is a fellow at Fundação Estudar.
